Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Vasooli ("the app", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information. Vasooli is an expense-splitting app that helps you track shared expenses and see who owes whom. The app is developed by Israr. By using Vasooli, you agree to the practices described here.
Information we collect
We collect only the information needed to run the service:
- Account and profile information — your name, email address, and any profile details you add. You can sign up with email and password or with Google Sign-In.
- Expense and settlement data — the groups you create, expenses you add, how they are split, and settlements between members. These are amounts you type in. We do not collect or store bank account numbers, card numbers, or payment credentials.
- Photos you upload — receipt images or transfer-slip photos you choose to attach to expenses or settlements.
- Push notification tokens — a device token used to deliver notifications to you.
How we use your information
- To provide the core expense-splitting service — creating groups, recording expenses, and calculating balances.
- To sync your data across the devices where you are signed in.
- To send push notifications about activity that involves you, such as a new expense or a settlement in your group.
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
How your information is shared
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the infrastructure providers that make the app work:
- Supabase — our backend provider for the database, authentication, and file storage (hosted on Supabase/AWS infrastructure). Your account, expense data, and uploaded photos are stored here.
- Expo push notification service and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) — used together to deliver push notifications to your device. Your device push token and the notification content pass through these services to reach your phone.
- Google — used only if you choose to sign in with Google, to verify your identity.
These providers process data on our behalf so we can operate the app. We do not share your data with advertisers.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your personal information (name, email, phone, photo, login) is permanently removed and your account can no longer be signed in to. Shared transaction records (expenses and settlements in groups you shared with other members) are retained in anonymized form — shown as "Deleted user" and no longer linked to you — so the other members' balances and history remain accurate. Full details are in our account deletion instructions. Some records may remain in encrypted backups for a short period before they are overwritten in the normal backup cycle.
Security
Your data is stored with Supabase, which uses encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest, along with access controls. We take reasonable measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Account deletion
You can delete your account and data at any time from within the app: open Vasooli, go to the Profile tab, tap Delete account, and confirm. You can also email us to request deletion. Full steps are on the account deletion page.
Children's privacy
Vasooli is not directed at children under 13 and does not contain age-restricted content. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes may also be communicated in the app. Continued use of Vasooli after an update means you accept the revised policy.
